graduate of
Appalachian State University
in Boone, NC. During her time at
Appalachian she performed with the
university's premiere ensembles, tutored
music theory and aural skills, and
served as Vice President for the CMENC
chapter. After graduating in 2004, Mrs.
Isenhour taught her first year at Platte
Valley Middle and High School in the
small town of Kersey, Colorado. She was
the band and chorus teacher for grades 6
through 12, a job formerly taught by two
full-time teachers. She not only
increased the size of the music program
in Platte Valley, but also received
superior ratings with her performing
ensembles as well as fostering a
relationship between her school and the
University of Northern Colorado.
Mrs. Isenhour
returned home from Colorado with her
husband, Justin, and taught one year in
Charlotte Mecklenburg schools before
finding a happy home at Marvin Ridge
Middle School in Union County. At MRMS,
she has founded a rapidly growing band
program of superior quality and
continues to work passionately to offer
her students the best music education
that they can receive. This year
performances will include SCDBA Concert
Band Festival and Carowinds Band
Festival in addition to Winter and
Spring concerts at the school.
Professional
memberships for Mrs. Isenhour include
MENC, NCMEA, UCBA, Creative Motion
Alliance. She is a freelance performer
and teacher in the Charlotte area and
performs with the Carolinas Wind
Orchestra of Winthrop University, where
she will begin work towards her Masters
degree in Wind Conducting in the spring
of 2008. Mrs. Isenhour resides in Fort
Mill, SC with her husband, Justin and
two cats, Billy and Sanchez.
